1) After you log in web site this form is showed to you and you have the following areas to interact with the web site:
Area 1: Your Message
Write a message to send. In this place you put what you want, course, you can’t put adds, pornography and language not polite for children, ok? Check the rules of the web site to don’t do nothing wrong. After you “Tag it” your message then click on “Post it”.
Area 2: Tag it
Tags are keywords that you can use to identify your message, in the future you can use them to find subjects interesting to you. For example, you write a message about English spoke in USA, them you put the follow tags on the “tag it” box: English, USA, tip.
The tags are separated by commas “,”. The tags often are written in lower case and without spaces, but in Commboard you can use any case and with spaces too, the system does the necessary to format the tags to you.
Area 3: Avatar
This area show the image that identifies you, when you sign in this service you put an e-mail address, right? Then to load an image to show you must join in http://www.gravatar.com service and use the same e-mail address, load your image there and ready, your image appears in this web site and in any web site that use Gravatar’s service.
Area 4: Work Toolbar
Is this bar you have any configurations to do:
1) Hide / Show Replies: You activate or deactivate the replies/comments, if “hide”, the web site don’t show the comments made to messages, if “show” the comments are showing, but you are warn of it all comments arrived.
2) Keyboard Shortcuts: When clicked shows a box with the keyboard shortcuts. Shortcuts to you surf in the web site without to use a mouse, only keyboard. This is good to special users. The shortcuts are:
c - compose new post j - next post/next comment k - previous post/previous comment r - reply e - edit o - show/hide comments t - go to top esc - cancel and close the shortcut list box
Area 5: Infobar
Infobar shows the nickname of the user that sent the message, the time, day, month, etc. And the number of replies of the message and the tags in use.
Area 6: Edit toolbar
Contains links about the post:
- Permalink: is the abbreviation for Permanent Link, this means that is the link of this peculiar post and never will be changed, if you use this link, you have it. Then if you send this link to anyone, it always will be a valid link.
- Reply: use this link to answer a message, click on it and a box appears to you write your comment.
- Edit: use this link to reedit the message sent by you, only you can change your own message and you never can change the messages of other users. If you find something wrong in messages of others users, please, reply the post with the fault, like this you help the learning of the users.
The sidebar
There is a bar in right side of the web site, in blogs (web logs) often these bars are called sidebars. The sidebar of Commboard contains:
- Login / Logout form: A form to you log in or log out on the web site.
- Links to join and to recuperate your password forgot.
- Form Search: A form to you look for words, tags, categories, etc.
- Pages: Links to pages of the web site, home is the main, others are contact, about, help, etc.
- Calendar: To you see which days have posts, when you click on a day in the calendar, if the day have posts the web site shows the post from that day. You can still to navigate following to previous months.
- Archives: Are links to see the post from a specific month.
- Translate: Click on the flag of the country to select the language that you want to translate. The web site calls the Google translate service, which shows the all the texts of the web site translated.
The tags cloud
At the end of the web site you look for many words in an order-mess, these words are the tags with more occur in the posts, how much bigger the font-size, many turns the word was used. The tags cloud shows the firsts 35 tags with more use. You can use to see what subject the people are posting.
